Formerly known as School Direct, our Initial Teacher Training (ITT) provision brings together the best of university-based and SCITT-based PGCE courses. We work with a large, well-established partnership of schools across Dudley, Sandwell, Wolverhampton, South Staffordshire, and South Shropshire to recruit and train the teachers and school leaders of the future, with a wide range of Primary and Secondary courses available.

PGCE with QTS: Trainees gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Local placements: We work with a wide range of partnership schools across our region. This means that placements are conveniently located for our trainees, where they can build links to local schools.
Local training: Training sessions are delivered from our local Regional Hub training centre.
Experienced ITT team: Having been involved in ITT since the inception of School Direct over a decade ago, Stour Vale have been a leading provider of high-quality PGCE courses across the Black Country.
Collaborative expertise: Our PGCE trainees receive high-quality training from both university tutors and expert teachers currently working. This approach ensures that trainees receive the most up-to-date, relevant knowledge and teaching techniques, grounded in excellent classroom practice.
