Stour Vale Hosts Successful Primary Leadership Conference

On Friday 24 September, Stour Vale welcomed more than 50 delegates to its Primary Leadership Conference. Attendees travelled from across the region, including schools in Dudley, Sandwell, Wolverhampton, Birmingham and North Worcestershire.

The conference provided a valuable opportunity for professional learning and collaboration, featuring keynote presentations and workshops led by senior leaders from Stour Vale member schools. Throughout the day, delegates engaged with a range of practical and inspirational leadership strategies designed to support school improvement and enhance outcomes for pupils.

Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with every delegate reporting that the learning gained from the conference would have a positive impact within their own schools. One local headteacher commented:

“Fantastic day, very well organised. Lots of inspiration and it will have a real impact for us as leaders.”

This sentiment reflected the views of all who attended.

Most delegates represented schools that are not part of a multi-academy trust or wider school group, and many expressed their appreciation for Stour Vale’s commitment to professional collaboration and generosity in offering the conference free of charge.

The success of the event was made possible thanks to the expertise and commitment of the presenters: Matt Priest, Gareth Ludlam, Megan Walters, Liz Shaw, Aline Scotney, Stuart Clough, Lara Stone, John Bates, Simone Chesney-Ly, Sam Bushell, Sophie Shinner and Deb Walker, who shared their knowledge and experience throughout the day.
