PGCE Celebration Event
On an incredibly warm Wednesday evening at the end of June, we gathered at the Bistro at Halesowen College to celebrate the achievements of our PGCE trainee teachers as they reached the end of their training journey with us. We are delighted that 29 primary and 28 secondary trainees have all been successfully recommended for QTS, with many of them taking up ECT positions across the Black Country.
The evening provided a welcome opportunity to relax, reflect and enjoy each other’s company, despite the heat! Guests were treated to a delicious buffet, expertly prepared by the Halesowen College catering team alongside their talented catering students.
As always, the event featured our light-hearted trainee awards, including ‘Most Likely to Become a Headteacher’, ‘Most Organised’ and the much-coveted ‘Trainees’ Trainee of the Year’.
A particular highlight was hearing from our trainees themselves, who recorded video messages encouraging future applicants to join the Stour Vale Teacher Training Hub. Their overwhelmingly positive feedback about the support they received was a fitting way to celebrate a fantastic year and wish them every success in their teaching careers.
