Ofsted Success at Moat Farm Infant School and Northfield Road Primary School

In November 2025, Ofsted began inspecting schools under the Renewed Inspection Framework. Inspections started with schools that had volunteered to be inspected as part of the process of testing out the new inspection methodology. Two of our schools, Moat Farm Infant School and Northfield Primary School, bravely volunteered and were inspected during this period.

Congratulations to Moat Farm Infant School on their recent Ofsted Report Card. The Report Card has now been published and can be found at https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/21/149847.

Moat Farm Infant School are celebrating a strong judgement in leadership and governance and expected in all other areas. They have a great deal to be proud of as there are many areas of strength within the school. These are reflected in some of the comments Ofsted made about the school:

What it’s like to be a pupil at Moat Farm Infants

This is a large school with a small family feel. In all aspects of its work, the school’s motto of ‘At Moat Farm Infant School every day we learn, achieve, have fun and play’ is evident. Pupils love coming to school and learning. They say that behaviour is positive in school because ‘we are all friends’. Pupils feel safe at school. They know that an adult will help them if they have any problems.

The school has high ambition for pupils. As a result, pupils typically achieve well, particularly disadvantaged pupils. Staff make sure that they get to know pupils quickly.

Leadership and Governance

Leaders understand the school’s unique context very well. They have created an inclusive culture. Leaders have established extremely positive relationships with pupils and their families. This starts from the moment pupils join the school. This means leaders understand pupils’ individual needs particularly well, both academically and pastorally… The trust and local governing body are immensely diligent in carrying out their role. They have a detailed understanding of the school. They systematically carry out activities to ensure leaders remain focused on its priorities.

Congratulations are also due to Northfield Road Primary School. Their Report Card can be found at https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/provider/21/147155

Northfield Road’s Ofsted Report is the culmination of a school improvement process, and the school is rightly proud of the latest set of judgements. This is reflected in some of the comments Ofsted made about the school:

What it’s like to be a pupil at Northfield Road

Pupils at Northfield Road genuinely value being part of the school community. Each pupil is known, understood and included. Staff build warm, purposeful relationships that help pupils feel safe. This contributes to pupils’ positive attendance. Staff are positive role models, and pupils mirror their example in how they treat one another.

Leadership and Governance

The trust has taken decisive action to strengthen the school’s leadership team, and these steps have already had a positive impact. Leaders understand what the school does well and have accurately identified the areas requiring further development. The impact of this focused work is becoming evident through improvements in attendance and the teaching of writing.

Governors are committed to supporting leaders and take an active role in ensuring that pupils receive the education, care and support they deserve. The school’s work is strengthened by the trust’s effective support. It provides oversight that helps leaders remain focused on sustained improvement.

Congratulations on such positive inspections and we look forward to your continued success in providing safe, happy, inclusive schools that aim for the best possible outcomes for all your pupils.
