Mental Health First Aid for Adults

Working in schools is undoubtedly one of the most important and rewarding professions, but it can also be challenging at times. There are occasions when staff need the support of their colleagues, and to strengthen this support network, 14 members of staff from across Stour Vale attended a two-day Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) for Adults course earlier this month.

The course, delivered by Stellar Mind, explored a wide range of mental health topics and concluded with a practical session on applying MHFA skills in real-life situations. Following the training, participants become part of a supportive MHFA community, with access to regular newsletters and a range of online resources designed to enhance their knowledge, confidence and ability to have meaningful mental health conversations.

This training, alongside our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), ensures that staff have access to a comprehensive range of wellbeing support whenever they need it.

Congratulations and thank you to everyone who successfully completed the training and is helping to further strengthen our culture of support and wellbeing across Stour Vale.
