Celebrating an Exceptional Ofsted Outcome at Moat Farm Junior School
We are delighted to share the fantastic news that Moat Farm Junior School has achieved an exceptional Ofsted inspection outcome.
Inspectors judged the school to be Strong in all areas, with Exceptional grading for attendance and behaviour — making Moat Farm Junior School the first school in Sandwell to receive the highest possible judgement. This is a truly historic moment for the school community.
Ofsted praised the positive atmosphere and high standards across the school, particularly recognising the exemplary behaviour of its pupils. Inspectors noted that: “Leaders’ approach to behaviour promotes excellent self-regulation and equips pupils with habits that will serve them well beyond school.”
They also highlighted how much pupils enjoy learning, commenting that: “Pupils relish their learning. They focus well in lessons and explain their thinking with clarity. Pupils engage enthusiastically with a well-designed curriculum that helps them build knowledge over time and make meaningful links between ideas.”
Mrs Elizabeth Shaw and Mrs Aline Scotney, Co-Headteachers, said: “We are absolutely delighted that the inspection recognised the exceptional and strong standards that define life at Moat Farm Junior School. The report reflects the nurturing culture, calm and purposeful atmosphere and real sense of community that we work hard to create every day. We are particularly proud that inspectors highlighted our pupils’ exemplary behaviour, genuine enthusiasm for learning and the high levels of achievement they demonstrate across the curriculum.
This recognition belongs to our entire school community. We would like to thank our dedicated staff, supportive families, governors and trust colleagues for their continued commitment. Most of all, we are proud of our pupils, who embody our values and have been recognised as confident, responsible and considerate young people who are very well prepared for the next stage of their education.”
We are also proud that Moat Farm Junior School has been recognised nationally as a Department for Education Lead Attendance and Behaviour Hub School — one of only 93 schools across the country chosen to share best practice and support other schools.
This exceptional outcome reflects the dedication and hard work of the school’s staff and governors, the positive attitudes and behaviour of the pupils, and the continued support of parents and carers.
